Orders & Support

Information on production, delivery, cancellations, returns, and order support for works acquired through The Colour Nest.

The Colour Nest is an artist-led practice in abstract painting. Original works, print editions, and art objects are prepared with attention to material, form, and process. Some works are singular originals; others are produced as editions or translations of an original painting.

This page explains how orders are prepared, delivered, and supported after purchase.

Original works

Original paintings are singular works. Each original is available as described on its individual work page.

If you would like further details before acquiring an original work, please contact the studio before placing an order.

Print editions and art objects may be produced or prepared after an order is placed.

Each edition or object remains connected to the original work from which it is derived. Small variations may occur across surface, scale, colour, texture, and material depending on the production process.

Estimated production and delivery information is provided on the relevant work page or during checkout.

If production is delayed, The Colour Nest will contact you using the details provided with your order.

You may request cancellation within 12 hours of placing your order, provided production or preparation has not yet started.

Once production, preparation, or fulfilment has begun, cancellation may not be possible, especially where the work is produced to your specification, personalised, or prepared specifically for your order.

To request cancellation, contact:

thecolornestorg@gmail.com

Please include your order number in the subject line.

If you need to change a delivery address, size, edition, or order detail, contact the studio as soon as possible.

Changes are not guaranteed once production or dispatch has started. Please check all order details carefully before completing your purchase.

Some works may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns where they are personalised, produced to your specification, or prepared specifically for your order.

Where a statutory right to cancel applies, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the item and return it within a further 14 days. Returned works must be unused, handled only as necessary to inspect them, and returned in suitable protective packaging.

Unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

If a work arrives faulty, damaged, incorrectly produced, or materially different from the order description, contact the studio as soon as possible.

Please include:

  • your order number
  • a short description of the issue
  • clear photographs of the work
  • photographs of the packaging, if the parcel arrived damaged

The issue will be reviewed and, where appropriate, a repair, replacement, reprint, credit, or refund may be offered.

Please report visible damage, faults, or order issues within 14 days of delivery where possible. This allows the studio to review the issue promptly and, where relevant, raise a matter with the carrier or production partner.

This reporting timeframe does not remove any statutory rights you may have.

The Colour Nest makes every effort to represent works accurately online.

However, colour and surface may vary between screen and physical work. Differences may occur due to screen settings, scale, material, print process, texture, and lighting.

Slight variation is not usually considered a fault.

Where a work is produced or prepared specifically for your order, The Colour Nest cannot usually offer a refund or replacement because the wrong size was selected.

If you are unsure about scale, please contact the studio before ordering.

Orders are sent using the delivery method selected or assigned at checkout. Delivery times may vary depending on the work, destination, production schedule, and carrier.

Tracking details will be provided where available.

Unless otherwise agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within the timeframe confirmed at the point of purchase.

If tracking has not updated or your order appears delayed, contact the studio with your order number.

The studio will review the available tracking information and assist where possible.

If tracking shows that a parcel has been delivered but you have not received it, please first check:

  • safe places around the property
  • neighbours
  • reception, concierge, or mailroom areas
  • other household members
  • any delivery photograph or carrier note

If the parcel still cannot be located, contact the studio. The issue will be reviewed case by case with the carrier where possible.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate delivery details at checkout.

If you notice an address error, contact the studio immediately. If the order has not yet been dispatched, the studio will try to update the address.

If the order has already been dispatched, it may not be possible to redirect it. If a parcel is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address, additional delivery costs may apply.

Please do not send any work back without contacting the studio first.

If a return is required, return instructions will be provided. Where the issue is confirmed as a fault, damage, or production error, reasonable return shipping costs will be covered where appropriate.

Unapproved returns may not be accepted.
