Details

A printed edition translated from Primary Syntax (2025).

This work presents a fragment taken from a transitional zone of the original painting. The extraction focuses on areas where colour shifts and spatial tension accumulate, allowing the composition to open outward while remaining structurally coherent.

Rather than concentrating weight at the centre, this fragment distributes pressure across the surface. Space functions as distance rather than absence, and the composition holds a sense of pause without resolution.

Translation

Derived from Primary Syntax, 2025.
The fragment was selected for its spatial transition and reduced density. Elements surrounding the core structure have been retained to preserve balance, distance, and measured tension.

Studio Notes

This printed edition forms part of an ongoing translation practice in which original paintings are not reproduced, but carefully extracted. Each fragment is selected to preserve a specific spatial condition, allowing the work to exist independently while remaining structurally linked to its source.

About Us

The Colour Nest brings abstract painting into physical space.

Original artworks are translated into print editions and objects through a considered process that prioritises material, restraint, and structure. Each work is shaped by the same principles, whether on canvas or in its translated form.

The aim is not to stylise everyday life, but to allow art to exist within it on its own terms.
