Product Care & Safety

Information on caring for works, print editions, and art objects from The Colour Nest.

The Colour Nest works across original painting, print editions, and art objects. Each piece should be handled with attention to its material, surface, and intended use.

This page provides general care and safety guidance. Please also refer to any specific care information provided on the individual work page or included with your order.

Keep works away from excessive moisture, direct heat, open flames, and prolonged direct sunlight unless otherwise stated.

Handle surfaces with clean, dry hands. Avoid placing works in conditions that may cause fading, staining, distortion, surface damage, or material stress.

Works should be kept in a stable interior environment and handled with care when moved, stored, or displayed.

Original works and print editions should be protected from damp conditions, strong heat sources, and prolonged direct sunlight.

Avoid touching the surface directly where possible. If framing, mounting, or hanging is required, use suitable materials and professional guidance where appropriate.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that any work is displayed or installed safely and appropriately for its size, weight, material, and location.

Textile objects should be used, placed, and cared for with attention to their surface and construction.

Avoid excessive moisture, sharp objects, heavy abrasion, direct heat, open flames, and prolonged direct sunlight. Colour, texture, and surface may change over time depending on use, light exposure, and environment.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, textile objects are intended for interior use only. They are not designed for outdoor use, specialist commercial use, or use as children's products or toys.

If a textile object becomes damaged, loose, torn, or structurally compromised, stop using it and contact the studio for guidance.

Works and objects should be placed on stable surfaces or installed using suitable fixtures, supports, and methods.

Please consider the surrounding environment before placing a work near heat sources, fireplaces, radiators, windows, bathrooms, kitchens, high-humidity areas, or areas where it may be knocked, pulled, or damaged.

The Colour Nest is not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable placement, incorrect installation, environmental exposure, or use outside the intended purpose of the work.

Each piece is carefully prepared for transit.

When opening your order, take care not to damage the work with scissors, blades, or sharp tools. Keep packaging until you have checked the item, especially if there appears to be damage in transit.

If your order arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and the item before discarding any materials.

Please keep your order confirmation and any product or edition information provided with your order.

This information may help identify the work, edition, material, production batch, or order details if you need support, care guidance, or safety assistance later.
